1882: Erath County citizens were expected to volunteer for roadwork and other civic maintenance. The county road supervisor was summoning residents for the day’s work when he reached the home of John Henning. When he called at the gate, Heninng stepped to the door and shot him off of his horse, killing him. The Fort Worth Democrat

Dan, good luck with the blog. It will be interesting to see how it develops. Looks like you can expand your entries from the historical calendars you once made. We just left S’vlle and noticed they have moved the Oxford(?) house to the museum. Are you part of that effort?
