In July, 1887, The Rube Burrow gang rode from Cottonwood Springs, near Alexander, to rob the train at Gordon. “As the train pulled out of the statin, Rube and Henderson Bromley mounted the engine and ordered the engineer and fireman to stop 500 yards east.
